Bill and Bob explore the world of the American Beech Tree. Bill shares about boogie woogie aphids. (Here is a link to a YouTube video on aphids .) Bill also explains the mysteries of a plant that lives off the roots of the beech and produces no chlorophyll. Bob sits near a beech tree and discovers the secret of how Native Americans collected beech nuts. The tip of the week just might come in handy on a stormy day!

John and I just listened to Sitting by a Beech. Great episode!
If it’s ok, I’d like to alert the Arc Board of your new Nature Guys podcasts.
Bob
Glad you liked it. We would of course be pleased if you shared it with the board. Bill and I would like to lead hikes at Wildflower Pilgramage.

Great job, you two. Just one thing…you’ll see the lightning first and then hear the thunder. Light travels faster than sound, if I am not mistaken.
