Bluebirds are so great! How did we go so long without them on our podcast?
Thanks for all your Eastern Bluebird information. Paul and I have placed three nesting houses in the yard and now have learned that they’re too close together so need some relocating. Throughout this Covid summer we’ve had the pleasure of two broods (5 and 4) and are hopeful for a third in August. It’s been such fun to watch the fledglings learn to feed from the feeder near our back porch.
I am jealous! Hope you get that third brood.
I was a bluebird monitor at Greenacres in Indian Hill when my children were small in the 1980s, Recently I put up a bluebird box in June when a friend told me I had a lot of bluebirds circling the house. I am recently retired now and have more time to watch these curious birds. When I monitored I didn’t do it after the breeding season, so did not watch what they did after the spring. Well today October 26, I saw a bunch of bluebirds in my native cedar tree and in the crabapple tree. Then I noticed they we going in and out of the bluebird box that I had cleaned out a month or two ago. They don’t ever nest at this time right? I really enjoyed your podcast!!!
