Bladdernut

April 17, 2018 by Lisa 2 Comments

This is a great native under story shrub. If you see something that looks like chinese lanterns you may have found bladdernut. Bill says it is a wonderful plant for a yard.  Thanks to John Howard for the photo.

    Dear Bill and Bob,
You asked about Bluebirds at feeders- this is our second year of having them! Last year, we had one pair. They seemed to be successful, as I saw three young in the birdbath at the end of summer. This year, there seems to be one male and two females. We use 50% hulled sunflower and 50% with hulls. We feed only Late Nov to end of April.

Really enjoyed your discussion of bladdernuts – I am going to try to find some to plant.
